Description
Loyiso, also known as Roots in Kayamandi, has managed several successful food businesses in the township.
His first venture was a small chisa nyama stall, where meat is cooked on an open fire, which his cousin subsequently took over. In 2004, he opened his first restaurant at Ikhaya Trust Centre, which was expanded with additional investments over time, and in 2010 was converted into the popular venue known as Amazink. Although the space has since only operated seasonally, Roots continues to cater for events. He also recently starred in the reality television cooking show Brood & Botter, under the helm of chef Bertus Basson.
