Raithby’s most well-known foods
Description
Raithby is famous for its strawberries. In strawberry season they are sold for making strawberry jam, cakes with strawberries, and many other dishes. Fig jam and maketaan (watermelon) jam are also part of the jam collection.
“Mosbrood” is what they are most well known for. They used to get real “mos” from a farm close by, but it is difficult to get it from the farms these days and they must drive to farms that can still provide it. “Suikerkoek” (sugar cake) was also made by the older generation. There is probably just one person left that still makes that, namely Sophia Jansen, and she does it perfectly.
