Kayamandi: Binta’s Tavern/Three Sons Tavern

Title

Kayamandi: Binta’s Tavern/Three Sons Tavern

Subject

Landscape and architecture

Description

This tavern was started by the Setona family in their house in the “Lokasie” neighbourhood. Under their ownership, the tavern was known as Three Sons (after the three Setona siblings). The building later changed hands and became Binta’s Tavern. Considered one of the more reputable taverns in the township, Binta’s was a place to meet friends for a drink and often some dancing and music. Although currently closed, plans are under way to restore the tavern under Setona ownership.
